Post VIDEO: Armistice Day 2009 Portland Oregon
Hello Veterans for Justice Readers
I posted the following on Portland Indy Media

ARMISTICE DAY 11.11.09 in Portland Oregon

Armistice Day was celebrated on the eleventh day of the eleventh month.
At the eleventh hour and at the eleventh minute.
In Portland at this very time people met in "the city's living room" in solidarity for peace

Armistice Day 2009
On this day, a group of 100 people gathered with fellow veterans and their family & friends in Pioneer Square.

Also known as "remembrance day" this event was remembered in Portland Oregon with respect to those who have lost their lives in war. We all gathered and listened in quite, to taps played as we reflected on the tragedy of all war.
The date was declared a national holiday in many nations, to commemorate those members of the armed forces who were killed during war.

There was a poem read, and a few messages from some of the veterans
It was organized by Veterans For Peace, chapter 72.

A peace sign was made by placing painted rocks in the round peace symbol on the bricks.
Some of the rocks had messages written on them.
And a few messages were spoken as well.

I filmed the event and it is on two video clips on youtube
